A new poll by NBC News has found that over half of Americans are using artificial-intelligence platforms daily, but most still don't like them. The survey, conducted from February 27 through March 3, found that only the Democratic Party and Iran ranked lower in the rankings. Despite this, only 26% of registered voters view AI positively, while 46% view it negatively, resulting in a net favorability score of minus 20 points. The data also indicated a sharp partisan gap in how AI governance is framed, with Democrats more likely to trust the U.S. to regulate AI at lower rates than Republicans, and Democrats are also more trusting of the EU. However, despite this, politicians continue to pursue AI infrastructure projects, despite a lack of interest in the technology.
