A New York Times critic, Alex Preston, used AI to write a review of Jean-Baptiste Andrea's novel Watching Over Her, which was mistakenly mistaken for another review by a reader. The Times subsequently dropped Preston, citing his reliance on AI and his use of unattributed work by another writer as a violation of Times standards.
