Taiwanese filmmaker Giddens Ko and his longtime collaborator Kai Ko, who stars in “Kung Fu” and wrote, produced and acted in the film, presented at the Far East Film Festival with a panel discussing their 15-year collaboration. The film was developed by Stephen Chow, who also contributed to the development of the film. Ko adapted the film from his own novel 25 years ago and first attempted to shoot it as his second feature in 2013, but ended up pulling out of it due to an excess of confidence. The finished film incorporates footage from classic wuxia works and is described as Taiwan's largest-budgeted production. Kai Ko is also working on a second screen and script for a new screen and screenwriter project.
