The Bay Area has experienced a heat wave, with temperatures expected to remain 5-10 degrees higher than their seasonal averages for spring. However, National Weather Service meteorologist Dial Hoang predicts that there will be some relief on Saturday and more on Sunday. On Thursday, 11 daily records fell throughout the Bay Area, including the highest-ever March temperatures and a third location tied its March record. The hottest spot was Santa Rosa, which reached 92 degrees, surpassing Monday's 91-degree mark as the hottest March day on record. Despite this, an upper-level low pressure trough has slightly altered the air flow and pushed a thick ridge of high pressure far enough east to bring new cooler air to the region.
