He also suggests that Republicans should enforce the rules they already have to act against the filibuster. The article suggests that if Republicans keep major promises and pass election integrity reforms, they could retain their majority for the long term. However, the author acknowledges that these tactics could allow Democrats to do their worst in a few election cycles.
