OpenAI has raised $122 billion in its largest funding round yet, with contributions from investors including SoftBank, Andreessen Horowitz, D.E. Shaw Ventures, MGX, TPG, and T. Rowe Price Associates. The company is expected to enter the public markets later this year. The money will be used to fund AI chips, data center buildouts, and recruit top talent. Additionally, about $3 billion came from individual investors. The move is seen as an attempt to increase the company's shareholder base ahead of its anticipated IPO.
