The rain is expected to improve drought conditions across Middle Tennessee and could significantly enhance drought conditions. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to occur throughout the next few days, with some potentially strong to severe storms forecasted. The risk of severe storms has been decreased from most of Middle Tennessee to southern Kentucky, but areas in far southwest Middle Tennessee may still face the risk of strong storms or an isolated severe storm. The main concern is around storms with gusty winds and heavy rain. Despite this, there is no tornado threat or large hail threat. Monday is a First Alert Weather Day for the risk for isolated tornadoes, hail, and damaging wind gusts. The most likely timing for these storms is along and west of I-65.
