Michigan won its second national title, beating Connecticut 69-63, marking the first time in NCAA history that a team with an all-transfer starting five won the championship. The team's coach, Bo Schembechler, was replaced by Dusty May, an Indiana native who had previously worked with legendary coach Bob Knight. May's focus is on creating a competitive roster-team that represents Michigan. He credits players who fit a "connected culture" and long-term development with short-term infusions of talent.
