FBI agents in Oklahoma City have stressed the importance of identifying warning signs and reporting concerns following a shooting at Pauls Valley High School. The FBI had no prior information about the suspect before the attack, which occurred just 24 hours after the shooting. The agency's primary goal is to identify individuals who may be on a pathway to violence and connect them with help before their behavior turns criminal. Warning signs such as an obsession with past attacks, decreased performance at school or work, and inability to cope with stress can also be identified. Federal agents are urging the public to report warning signs of potential violence before it is too late. The threat assessment program was established in 2018 following the Parkland school shooting in Florida and focuses on identifying individuals with potential criminal behavior. Douglas M. Goodwater, special agent in charge of the FBI Oklahoma City field office, said there is no small threat that is too small to report.
