Tony Blair rejects Gaza genocide charge, says Western leaders are failing to stop antisemitism
Published on March 29, 2026.
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has refuted claims that Israel's war in Gaza constitutes genocide, instead arguing that Western leaders are failing to address the political climate behind rising antisemitism. He highlighted the recent arson attack on four Hatzola ambulances in London as part of a pattern of anti-Semitic attacks in Europe. Blair argued that political leaders have not stopped these attacks. He cited over 3,700 antisemitic incidents in the UK last year as evidence. The Community Security Trust reported that it recorded 3,7 anti-Jewish incidents in 2025, the second-highest annual total in its history and a 4% increase from 2024. Blair also criticised the use of genocide rhetoric and suggested that criticism of Israeli tactics was legitimate without acknowledging the October 7 massacre.
