At least three northern Wisconsin counties are under a winter storm warning, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The warnings affect Price and parts of Oconto and Marinette counties and could extend through Thursday evening. Forecasts predict heavy mixed precipitation, leading to up to two inches of snow and sleet accumulation and up to a quarter of an inch of ice accumulation. Wind gusts of up to 30 mph are possible in some areas, which could make travel nearly impossible. Power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice. The majority of the snow is expected to fall during the daytime hours of Thursday. NWS advises against driving during a storm, as snow, sleet or ice can create dangerous driving conditions.
