Bill Nye, the renowned mechanical engineer and former Bill Nye the Science Guy personality, has warned that proposed cuts to NASA could end the agency. This comes after Nye criticized the proposed 23% reduction to NASA's budget in Donald Trump's proposed budget for the 2027 fiscal year. Nye described the move as a "huge mistake" as NASA is the best brand the U.S. has and its mission to the moon, Artemis II, was the first crewed flight beyond low-Earth orbit since 1972. The previous proposed 18% cut to NASA was rejected by both chambers of Congress. The White House and NASA have yet to comment on the proposed cuts.
