Oklahoma immigration attorney, Melissa Lujan, has criticized ICE for moving her clients around, stating that this exacerbates a significant backlog of cases. Lujan believes this is a "domestic impact" on an already-alleged case backlog. She points out that out of six clients, all but one of whom have been relocated at least once, have been moved at least twice during their process. The backlog of pending court cases is estimated at approximately 3.4 million cases, with around 2.5 million still pending, and around 182,000 people waiting for court appearances in Dallas, the closest IMMigRation Court to OKLAHOMA, has more than 182,00 people awaiting court appearances.
