A federal judge has denied the government's request to keep Gerald Brown, a former fighter pilot, in jail until his trial date. Brown is facing federal charges that he defrauded the United States and trained Chinese fighter pilots. The government argued Brown is a flight risk and should not be held until the trial. Brown's attorney, Courtney Millian, argued that many of the government’s claims do not stand up to scrutiny. Millian also refuted the claim that Brown was fired from his job in China and his departure was contentious. If the government wins the appeal, Brown will be held in prison until Friday, March 27.
