Braelon Allen, a former fourth-round pick for the Jets, is eager to start the season with a strong performance following a major knee injury last year. Despite showing promising signs as a rookie, Allen was forced to miss the final 13 games due to a sprained medial collateral ligament. He credits his focus on establishing himself as a workhorse back and earning respect from his teammates and around the league. Allen put on pads for the first time since the injury, and is eager for the start of the season against the Titans on Sept. 13. The Jets' running game was ranked 10th in the NFL last year and could improve with a more capable quarterback under center in Geno Smith.
