A city official in Waterbury, Connecticut, has been arrested on forgery charges after police found evidence that he lied about his education and professional background to obtain his position. The investigation led to the resignation of the assistant water superintendent and the water superintendent. Police believe that Malay would have been considered for these positions if he had been honest about his background. He is charged with two counts of second-degree forgery and is scheduled to appear in court on May 12.
