How UConn's March Madness foes can end Huskies' run through bracket

The UConn Huskies are the defending national champions and the No. 1 overall seed in the 2026 women's NCAA tournament. This marks the 10th time the team has gone into the tournament unbeaten, marking their first time since 2018. The defending national champion, UConn, has the highest-scoring offense in Division I at 88.8 and the stingiest defense in the country. Despite this, experts suggest that it will be difficult for teams to stop UConn's undefeated run. UConn hosts No. 16 seed UTSA in the Fort Worth 1 Regional in its NCAA tournament opener. The winner of Fort Worth will play the winner of Sacramento 4 in the Final Four, potentially facing UConn-South Carolina in a rematch of the 2025 NCAA title game.
