A new Universal Pictures release schedule has revealed that a "Untitled Illumination/Nintendo Event Film" is set to release on April 12, 2028. This could be the rumored Donkey Kong spin-off movie. Records indicate that in 2025, both Nintendo and Universal registered the copyright to the "Untitled Donkey Kong Project; Motion Picture".
