OpenAI is preparing for an IPO, potentially by the end of the year, with CEO Fidji Simo emphasizing the focus on its enterprise business. Simo told employees that the company is committed to helping businesses and is focusing on high-productivity use cases. The company's ChatGPT launch in 2022 supports over 900 million weekly active users, but it is still seeking market share from rivals like Google and Anthropic. The IPO could land as soon as the fourth quarter of this year, according to a person familiar with the matter. CFO Sarah Friar is building out OpenAI's finance team ahead of the market debut. The firm has also been working to establish clearer spending targets for 2025, with an estimated $600 billion in total compute spend by 2030.
