FAA, Pentagon Sign Agreement Allowing Counter-Drone Deployment at Mexico Border

The United States Department of Energy and the Department of Transportation have signed an agreement allowing the military to use anti-drone lasers near the Mexican border to combat cartel drones or other national security threats. The agreement follows a safety assessment of the drones and demonstrations at White Sands Missile Base in New Mexico. The technology was tested last month.
