In December, author Jaime Grant published Kink For Dummies for the Dummies series of how-to books. The series teaches about everything from Emotional Intelligence to Bollywood. Grant, a former staffer at the National LGBTQ+ Task Force during the AIDS crisis, has written a book on kink, which includes stories by 24 of her kinkiest co-conspirators. The book was inspired by the struggles of the gay movement, which was pushed to "tone it down" for the sake of undecided voters in the Midwest, leading to the decline in the Democratic Party's slide to the right over the past 25 years and the pursuit of corporate Pride. Grant argues that the struggle for the survival of the AIDS epidemic is essential, with the focus on fighting for the rights of our right to be our uncontainable selves.
