A California civil jury has found that Bill Cosby is liable for drugging and sexually assaulting a Bay Area woman in 1972. The woman, Donna Motsinger, was awarded $59.25 million in damages after a trial in Santa Monica. The verdict included $17.5 million in past damages and $1.75 million in future damages tied to "mental suffering, loss of enjoyment of life, inconvenience, grief, anxiety, and humiliation." The jury also added $40 million in punitive damages. Despite the allegations, Cosby has denied the allegations and plans to appeal.
