ZDNET's John Sutter has developed a $4 router reboot timer, which speeds up internet connections faster than traditional methods. The Router Rebooter is a small cable that sits alongside the router's DC power cable and cuts power to the router every 24 hours. It is simple to connect the power to a router without any buttons, dials, knobs, or an app. The device can handle voltages from 5V to 15V and can be adapted to suit consumer electronics. Sutter's use in local businesses with low-quality Wi-Fi infrastructure has significantly reduced frustration levels. For $8, you get two router Rebooter dongles, one black one and one white one.
