Businesses in Mount Healthy are in limbo due to over 100+ alleged fire code violations, which could result in the closure of more than a dozen small businesses. The city of Mt. Healthy is seeking an injunction over the alleged violations and is seeking to shut down operations at the shopping plaza at Hilltop Plaza. Court filings reveal that more than 100 violations were found during inspections between April and July last year, including electrical hazards, open wiring issues, and corroded equipment. The court filings also reveal numerous safety concerns throughout the plaza, including emergency lighting issues and a lack of safety systems. The City of Mt Healthy is also seeking an order to vacate eight hazardous housing contracts on the property.
