Republican presidential bigs skip CPAC as Ted Cruz prepares to fire up conservative crowd

Most prominent Republican presidential figures are skipping the annual gathering of the Conservative Party (CPAC), usually a crucial gathering for candidates aiming to raise the party's activist base. However, Sen. Ted Cruz, a longtime contender for the White House, is using the occasion to capitalize on his potential opportunities. Other notable attendees included Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who have their own issues with Iran and the war in Iran. The event is being held outside of Washington and is expected to be held in Grapevine, Texas. No members of the Trump family were scheduled to attend, although they have previously been prominent at CPAC.
