The Associated Press declared Toth's victory with 57.3 percent of votes. This defeat puts the end of Crensh's career as an outspoken critic of gender-friendly care. Crenhaw had previously supported legislation to prevent federal programs from paying for gender-intensive medical care for minors, which he defended as a measure to prevent taxpayer dollars from being used for controversial treatments.
