After a series of break-ins targeting small businesses across the Arts District in Las Vegas, some owners are using city-funded grants to improve security and protect their livelihoods. At Recycle Propaganda, owner and artist Izaac Zevalking, who opened the gallery over seven years ago, saw the increase in security through a small business security grant from the city of Las Vegas. The cost of responding to such incidents, which often add up to the financial strain, often exceeds just replacing what was stolen. However, business owners attribute the success of these grants to the close-knit community of business owners who keep informed and prepared.
