New Mexico is set to receive much-needed rain and mountain snow as a storm system moves into the state. The heaviest rain will fall across eastern New Mexico, with lighter amounts further west. The system will continue to expand across northern, eastern, and southern New Mexico as it moves in. Snow is expected to increase in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, where it is predicted that 2″ to 8″ is expected between 7,500 and 9,500′, with 8″ to 12″ possible above 9,000 feet. A Wind Advisory is in effect for the Albuquerque Metro until 6 am. The rain and snow mix could reach as far south as Las Vegas and Clines Corners.
