US gas prices have risen by 74 cents a gallon in a month due to the Iran conflict, according to AAA. This is the largest monthly increase since Hurricane Katrina. Gas prices in the United States rose by 2 cents to just under $3.72 a gallon, the highest price since October 7, 2023. Since the start of the war with Iran, gas price has surged 74 cents per gallon. This increases threatens one of President Donald Trump's key points of reducing gas prices. Diesel prices have also risen since the war began, rising by $1.24 and now averaging $4.99 a gallon. The US-Israeli attacks on Iran have raised fears over oil supply as most of Iran’s oil is shipped from there. The International Energy Agency announced that emergency oil reserves would soon be released to global markets. The administration also made several efforts to reduce rising fuel prices to counterbalance rising production.
