1 charged after attempted sexual assault in Loop; CPD seen at parking garage near Millennium Park

A 20-year-old woman was attacked on North Michigan Avenue in the Loop, Chicago, when a man approached her and attempted to sexually assault her. The woman was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition. Garland Benton, 45, from Crystal Lake, has been charged with multiple counts of aggravated battery, aggravated criminal sexual abuse/bodily harm, and attempted criminal sexual assault. The incident occurred at 6:35 a.m.
