Billionaire investor Mark Cuban once bought the only remaining ghost town in Texas, Mustang, for $2 million. The purchase was motivated by a friend who was dying of cancer and was the only asset available for sale. Despite having no plans for the town, Cuban suggested turning it into a dinosaur-themed attraction. He also appointed a friend as mayor, stating that the role of mayor would be more than simple cleaning the trash and keeping it clean.
