Akshay Bhatia, a 24-year-old golfer, won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in a playoff over Daniel Berger, marking his third career win on the PGA Tour. Following the event, Bhtia revealed that his late niece Mia, who passed away in 2025 due to pyruvate dehydrogenase complex deficiency (PDCD), was watching over him during the event. Bhta recalled seeing a rainbow during the match and dedicating his victory to Mia. The National Organization for Rare Disorders describes PDCD as a rare disorder of carbohydrate metabolism caused by a deficiency of one of the three enzymes in the pyruva.
