A Portland man, Mark Evan Simpson, has died following a head-on collision on U.S. 97 in Klamath County. The preliminary investigation indicates that Simpson crossed the center line and collided with a commercial truck driven by Das Balbir, who was pulling onto the highway to avoid a previous collision. The highway remained closed for five hours as investigators worked at the scene.
