President Donald Trump has nominated Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy Sarah Rogers to take over the US global media agency, USAGM. This comes after over 1,300 employees of the media broadcaster, Voice of America, were placed on leave. Rogers, who has led the administration's campaign against European Internet regulations, must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate before she can assume the role. A court filing by the Department of Justice indicates that Deputy Secretary ⁠of State Michael Rigas will perform the duties of the agency's CEO in the interim.
