Regulators are targeting these apps for allowing users under 18 to view adult content, extreme violence, self-harm, and eating disorder content. If Apple does not remove these apps by March 9, it could face fines of up to $35 million. Not all AI apps have complied with the regulators' demands, with only nine out of 50 platforms surveyed having implemented age-verification measures.
