Australia may force Apple to remove AI apps from the Apple App Store that allow users to access adult or violent content without age verification. This comes as Apple has already complied with Australia's social media ban for teens by updating the App Store's age-assurance tools. Regulators are targeting these apps for allowing users under 18 to view adult content, extreme violence, self-harm, and eating disorder content. If Apple does not remove these apps by March 9, it could face fines of up to $35 million. Not all AI apps have complied with the regulators' demands, with only nine out of 50 platforms surveyed having implemented age-verification measures.
