Leavitt says Americans stranded in Middle East had prior warning not to travel

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has stated that Americans stranded in the Middle East were given prior warnings to evacuate due to Iranian retaliation for U.S. strikes. Leavight also stated that citizens overseas were advised to use a 24/7 hotline and enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive updates on potential evacuations. Three of the country's remaining three embassies remain closed as attacks from Iranian forces continue.
