Progressive groups are planning to primary any House Democrat who votes against a war powers resolution limiting the Trump administration's military operations in Iran. The resolution has divided a group of hawkish Democratic centrists from the rest of their party. A senior progressive House Democrat, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that any Democrat voting against the resolution is "very politically perilous vote" and several progressive groups are already preparing for a primary challenge. Justice Democrats, MoveOn, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee and OurRevolution are reportedly involved in the effort. A group of six House Democrats have proposed an alternative war powers measure that would give the administration more time to withdraw.
