The U.S. continues to dominate the global startup scene, with a significant share of global venture investment, according to reports from the National Venture Capital Association and PitchBook. The depth of the American ecosystem, including active angel networks, seed funds, institutional venture firms, growth equity investors, private equity players, corporate venture arms, venture debt providers, and increasingly robust secondary markets, are considered unique. The U.K. offers something structurally rare: a continental-sized economy functioning as a single commercial environment. The country also offers immediate access to scale without crossing sovereign borders or managing multiple currencies. The United States concentrates on research universities, experienced operators, specialized service providers and mature investor networks close proximity. Culture, accumulated experience, and a strong tolerance for risk and reinvention of new products is also a powerful advantage.
