Raj Peter Bhakta, founder of WhistlePig and Bhakata Spirits, has offered to gift the $200M college campus of 185-year-old Green Mountain College in Poultney, Vermont to a Catholic or Christian institution. The donation is contingent on the new owner agreeing to share his vision for "the revival of our country and our civilization" and costing $200 million to rebuild. Despite being fired by the sitting president of the United States during the 2008 recession and having a failed congressional run in the past, he entered the high-end American whiskey market with Whistlepig and launched his namesake spirits company in 2020. His vision for the campus is rooted in his belief that America's values are eroding and that a return to Western civilization is required.
