The City and County of Honolulu has released an online form for residents to self-report damage to their homes from the kona storm. The County of Hawaii is encouraging residents and businesses to contact their insurance agent and document damaged property with photos. The reports will be used to assess impacts, prioritize response efforts and access recovery resources. The Maui Emergency Management Agency is working with local and state partners to assess damage. Submitting a report does not provide direct assistance to individuals or businesses but it helps the County demonstrate the full extent of storm damage.
