A desert community in Arizona has broken the record for the highest temperature ever recorded in March, with temperatures reaching 43C (110F) and 40C. The record was set during an intense heatwave that swept across the US southwest. The world has already warmed by about 1.5% since the industrial era, with predictions that temperatures will continue to rise unless governments cut emissions.
