Southern California is expected to break its all-time heat record for any day in March twice this week, tying the nation's record for the hottest March ever set in 1954. The National Weather Service Meteorologist, Chandler Price, stated that there is no end in sight to the extreme heat wave, which is forecast to continue through the week. Thermal and Indio both reached 108 degrees on Thursday, tying their records for the highest day in the March. Despite unverified reports of temperatures reaching 109 degrees, local records were also broken across Southern California. The cause of the heat is a strong ridge of high pressure, which has led to the longest heat wave I've ever seen for this time of year.
