The Artemis 2 astronauts are on their way to the Moon, becoming the first crewed spacecraft to depart low-Earth orbit since the Apollo era. The Orion spacecraft completed a translunar injection burn, which enabled it to set itself on a lunar trajectory. This was monitored by flight controllers and NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman to ensure the burn went smoothly. This marks the first time Orion has performed its own TLI burn, demonstrating its ability to perform this successfully. The spacecraft is now heading for a scheduled rendezvous with the Moon on Monday. Despite minor technical issues, including a brief loss of contact between ground control and Orion, and a problem with the spacecraft's toilet, all went as planned.
