Nardi strikes out the side 566 days in between games

Nardi, who had not pitched in a game since August 21, 2024, struck out the side in a scoreless fifth inning against three members of the Nationals' 40-man roster. He needed just 14 pitches (11 strikes) to defeat a switch-hitter and two lefties. Nardi had previously earned a reputation as one of the Majors' better firemen by stranding inherited runners at a high rate, but his workload caused him to land on the injured list with left triceps inflammation and a left elbow muscle injury. Manager Clayton McCullough praised Nardi's performance, stating it would have been a win on several fronts.
