Storm update: Baltimore officials urge residents to stay alert as wind advisory continues

Baltimore officials are monitoring severe weather conditions across the region, with a wind advisory in effect for the city. The National Weather Service has ended a tornado watch and severe storm warning for parts of Maryland and Virginia, including Baltimore City, ending the tornado watch. The city's Emergency Operations Center has been demobilized, but agencies will continue coordinating to monitor conditions and respond to any impacts from the ongoing storm system. Several city services and facilities closed early Monday due to severe weather, including the Quarantine Road Landfill, the Northwest Transfer Station, and all residential recycling centers. Despite the weather concerns, trash and recycling collections will continue on their normal Tuesday through Friday schedule. The Mayor's Office of Homeless Services declared a Code Purple from 10 a.m. to 10 early Monday through 9 a.M.
