My mother, who was diagnosed with cancer but refuses to accept it, has been living independently with her husband and daughter for four months while undergoing treatment and recovery, causing her to experience difficulty walking, severe brain fog and fatigue, and is also medically anorexic due to nausea. Despite this, she still drives and is socially active and fiercely independent. She blames all symptoms on radiation and insists she will improve once the radiation effects wear off. Her refusal to face the inevitable end of her life has led to stress and anxiety. Her daughter, who will not live with her again unless it is an end-of-life situation, is willing to help her sort out home healthcare and/or rides to and from places she needs to go, which she also refuses.
