Kim sidesteps question on Schumer leadership future

Sen. Andy Kim (D-N.J.) did not directly endorse Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer's leadership but noted that the congressional caucus is "united" amid negotiations on funding the Department of Homeland Security. Kim also commented that the Republicans are currently "the most divided I have seen," compared to the Democrats. Schumer, who has led the Senate Democratic Caucus since 2016, has faced calls from various corners of the party to give up power. However, a recent survey found that more than four in 10 respondents view Schumer unfavorably, while only 28 percent view him favorably.
