Katie Couric interviewed John F. Kennedy Jr. for the Today show in 1999, which would be his last TV interview before he died in a plane crash off Martha's Vineyard two months later. Couric recalls a memorable breakfast meeting with JFK Jr. at a Midtown Manhattan restaurant where he asked for cereal with fruit and honeydew melon on top of it. He was so charming and charming that Couric expected him to be so charming in an interview. The interview was to promote the Kennedy family's Profile in Courage award.
