Ezekiel Thompson, the second of two cousins charged with robbing a Lisle Verizon store at gunpoint, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison. The sentence was handed down following Ezekiel Thompson's guilty plea to one count of armed robbery with a firearm, a Class X felony. His cousin, Aaron Thompson, pleaded guilty in February 2020 and was sentenced in September 2025 to 22 years. Both men were ordered held without bond and later arrested after a brief foot chase. The robbery took place at a Verizon store on February 1, 2020, with the store employee being ordered to open a vault containing cellular telephones and other electronics. The suspects were later spotted in the parking lot of a Woodridge apartment complex and abandoned their vehicle when police approached them.
