Neil Flynn, the star of Shrinking, has returned to the show for season 3 and film alongside Harrison Ford and Michael J. Fox. Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the season 1 premiere of the show, Flynn described the experience as "very strange" but a thrill. He credits his participation to show creator Bill Lawrence, who invited him to join in the fun. Flynn also mentioned his solid friendship with Lawrence, which started decades ago. He and Fox have since worked on both Shragging and Scrubs, the latter of which recently returned with a revival. Fox, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, came out of retirement to guest star as Gerry, a patient with Parkinson's disease.
